Throughout 2006, MTA has triumphed many times for the benefit of the body
repair industry.
Firstly, the MTA has worked closely with government and the insurance sector to develop a federal voluntary Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct gives guidelines for the body repair and insurance industries on warranties, payment terms, more transparent networks and an external dispute mechanism.
MTA NSW kept fighting for the body repair industry in NSW and subsequently
this Code of Conduct has been made law in NSW which gives the entire industry increased transparency and assurance. In addition consumer protection clauses have been included to prevent steering by insurance companies.
This is a huge win for the body repair industry. Overall, 2006 hasbeen a very exciting year with the launch of the online times manual (OTM guide), progress in the Real Time Real Money campaign, the launch of I-CAR training in Australia and general industry unity.
