AHVRA Mission and Vision Statements


AHVRA is a brand that is instantly recognisable to the Government, insurance industry, policy holders and vehicle manufacturers as a repair group that is focused on industry best practices and repair methods. It has proven industry experience and existing professional reputation.

The AHVRA strives to seek improvements in service and continually work to lift the standard of heavy vehicle accident repairs through technology, techniques and best practices that deliver high quality, cost effective repairs with minimum downtime.

This criteria represents minimum requirements for AHVRA membership. It ensures that members are experienced & properly equipped heavy vehicle repairers.

Membership Criteria


Proven record of repairs to two or more of the following categories:

  • Light rigid vehicles
  • Medium rigid vehicles
  • Large rigid vehicles and/or Prime Movers
  • Trailers

Minimum of 5 years trading in the Heavy Vehicle Repair Industry


The repair facility must be visually presentable with good customer facilities, well equipped and fully functional.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Business computer systems
  • Evidence of WHS compliance – Company manual, written policy on display, hazard reporting forms, safe operating procedures
  • Waste management procedures
  • Sufficient insurance cover
  • Acceptable Presentation
  • Evidence of Current Workers compensation & Public liability Insurance (with a minimum limit of $20 M)

  • Licensed Crane and/or forklift operator
  • Estimator

  • Engineering tradesperson (mechanical)
  • Panel Beater Tradesperson
  • Spray Painter Tradesperson
  • Workshop manager
  • Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication)

  • Fuel Log and Storage
  • Parts bins/racks
  • Bonnet/Cabin/Sleeper/Axle/Chassis stands
  • Cab jig
  • Lifting spreader bars
  • Heavy vehicle Floor jacks / Vehicle Jacks
  • Forklift and or crane (minimum 4 tonne)
  • Spot welder/MIG welder/TIG Welders
  • Oxy acetylene LP Gas
  • Plasma cutter
  • Heat inductor
  • Headlight focusing equipment
  • Parts cleaner
  • Portable trestles
  • Hydraulic Press
  • Slings/chains/ropes (tested and tagged)
  • Steam cleaner
  • Heavy vehicle hoist or inspection pit or a method to allow under vehicle inspection and repairs
  • Riveting tools

  • Heated Spray Booth / baking oven , minimum 11m long by 5m wide by 5m high
  • Air feed spray hoods
  • Portable dust extraction
  • Colour dialling and spray out cards
  • Gun wash
  • HVLP Spray Guns or equivalent


  • Industry approved heavy vehicle chassis alignment and straightening equipment
  • Porta Power Ram Set (minimum 1 x 20 tonne)
