CEO Update - February 2023

MTA NSW would like to express our condolences to family and friends on the passing of David Keats, immediate past-President of our Association. David was a long-term Member, having served as a Governing Councillor, Vice President to the Executive Board and as President for two terms until June 2021. David will be remembered amongst our Members, in particular, those associated with the brake repair specialist's sector.

With the pending NSW State Election, the Shadow Minister for Skills and TAFE, Mr Tim Crakanthorp MP visited our head office and saw MTA NSW's Electric Vehicle training offerings and we had the opportunity to discuss the future of automotive training in NSW. We also met with the office of the Minister for Skills and Training, The Hon. Alister Henskens, SC MP to discuss training needs for the automotive sector and the requirements to support the roll out of electric vehicles.

These meetings are all part of our strategy to ensure that both the Labor Party and Liberal Party understand the real issues facing the automotive industry in our State and that collectively, we can provide the required input into policy development to achieve the necessary outcomes to both sustain and grow our industry.

We are excited to announce our new partnership with Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker, on Risk Solutions, a bespoke insurance program for the automotive industry helping to save you time and money. Further details will be provided when we formally announce this offering.

We would like to congratulate the MTA NSW apprentices who took centre stage at the recent World Skills Regional Competition as they aim for a shot at the World Skills National Championships, in Melbourne later this year.

We are ready again to support your business via our team of dedicated Area Managers, Divisional Managers, Trainers and Employment Relations Advisors who are available to assist you.

We looked ahead with confidence and a growing momentum of changes that will provide a strong platform for your business and the automotive trades industry.

As always, we are here for you.
