Vapour Recovery 2 - Colin Long Interviewed On The Alan Jones Breakfast Program

The issue of Vapour Recovery 2 at service stations remains a pressing issue for our members, who have a service station selling more than 3.5 million litres of motor spirit in a year (the threshold).

  • On Sunday September 13, 2015 an article was printed in the Sydney Sun Herald, where an MTA member, Diann Melas (Budget Petrol Group) Senior Division Manager Service Station Association MTA Colin Long, were interviewed and quoted on the subject of vapour recovery 2 at service stations, and the high overhead cost that is being forced upon existing service stations, many of them members of the MTA.
  • Move forward to October the 7th, 2015, and Alan Jones took up the Sun Herald article on his morning 2GB breakfast program, and following his introductory remarks (Click here to play interview) he then interviewed Colin Long on the issue on air.
The outcome of this publicity is that MTA is to again lobby the state Government and the EPA over the issue, as it is harsh/expensive and retrospective, and will have little impact on the environment.

We will keep members advised on developments.
