MTA NSW Welcomes AFCA Finding - Protecting Consumer and Motor Body Repairer Rights

The Motor Traders’ Association of NSW (MTA NSW), an Employers Association representing thousands of automotive businesses in NSW, has welcomed a finding of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) as validation of the need for an independent consumer complaint handling authority for those experiencing difficulties with financial and insurance firms. MTA NSW supports the work done by our national body, the Motor Trades Association of Australia (MTAA), and the Australian Motor Body Repairers Association (AMBRA).

Aussie Racing Cars Championship 2019 Round 4 Ipswich SuperSprint Queensland July 26-28

The Queensland Super Sprint became the landmark where nearly two decades after the race’s inception, the MTA NSW #41 vehicle joined a car field of 21 Aussie Racing Cars assembled for the fourth round of the Aussie Racing Cars, 2019 Championship Series. Despite having to replace an entire engine between Race 1 and Race 2 at Darwin in the last round, the MTA NSW Sponsored driver, Kody Garland saw this round as more challenging, testing both the driver’s skill and the Nissan Altima’s responsiveness.

MTA NSW Rally Championship 2019 Round 4 Rally of the Bay, Batemans Bay NSW 29 June

There were a few thrills and spills at the Rally of the Bay last weekend! The rally was running about an hour behind schedule due to a few incidents which blocked the stage. Sadly, the MTA NSW Rally Championship series leaders, Glen Raymond and Kate Catford, were out after an accident at the SS1, with the crew reported to have escaped unscathed. Tristan Kent running second in the MTA NSW Rally Championship was also out after an accident in Stage 3, with the crew also reported OK.

Digital Driver Licence Trial in Albury and Lavington

The Digital Driver Licence trial being conducted by Service NSW, will be extended to Albury (postcode 2640) and Lavington (postcode 2641) on Tuesday 21 May 2019. Approximately 25,000 licence holders will be eligible to join the trial, and independent research company, Woolcott Research, will be conducting surveys with licence holders and licence checkers in the areas.
