Members are advised that the New South Wales Government has announced a snap seven (7) day lockdown for the Northern Rivers Region.

The Northern rivers region comprises the following Local Government Areas:

The new restrictions imposed on residents and businesses within these local government areas are the same as those recently imposed on Tamworth, Armidale and Newcastle/Hunter Valley Regions.

In addition to the current restrictions around facemasks and gatherings, Members should take notice that:

  • Residents in these areas must stay at home unless it is for an essential reason as specified in Schedule 1 of the PHO.

  • Only one person per household may leave home to obtain food or other goods and services each day.

  • No more than two (2) persons may participate in an outdoor gathering.

  • Restrictions apply to travelling in vehicles and only family members are allowed save for a limited number of exceptions.

  • You must carry a face mask with you at all times when you leave your home.

  • You may go out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID vaccination.

  • You can leave home for work only if you cannot reasonably work from home and the business is allowed to be open. • New restrictions on retail operations apply. Members who operate any retail component to their business must close this part of the operations unless they are selling goods to the public by
