Broader economic pressures remain closely linked to global oil prices, fuel supply constraints and ongoing geopolitical tensions. This increase is largely attributed to rising global oil prices and supply constraints linked to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Members are also reminded that the temporary fuel excise reduction changed from 1 July. The reduction has now decreased to 16 cents per litre, down from the 32 cents per litre reduction introduced in March. This temporary measure is due to end on 2 August, meaning the fuel excise reduction will no longer apply from that date.
