MTA NSW Progresses Government Consultation on Motor Dealers and Repairers Regulation
MTA NSW continues to
represent the interests of its members in ongoing discussions with the NSW
Government on the Motor Dealers and Repairers Regulation.
The MTA NSW
Executive Team recently met with The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong MP, Minister for Better
Regulation and Fair Trading, Minister for Industry and Trade, Minister for
Innovation, Science and Technology, Minister for Building, and Minister for Corrections.
During the meeting, the team presented valuable feedback gathered from members,
ensuring the Government has a clear and representative understanding of
industry views on these important regulatory matters.
A key outcome of the
meeting was the Minister’s confirmation of the Government’s commitment to
introduce an electric vehicle (EV) licensing class. In addition, the Minister confirmed an intent to collaborate with the industry in developing a roadmap to
support the transition of the automotive workforce.
MTA NSW is uniquely
positioned to assist the Government in these objectives and is widely
recognised by the Department of Fair Trading and other stakeholders as the
leading voice of the automotive sector.
As consultations
progress, MTA NSW will continue to advocate strongly on behalf of members to
ensure industry needs are addressed. Updates will be provided as outcomes are
reached.
