If you sell used vehicles online, make sure the required dealer notice is available with the vehicle listing.
When uploading a vehicle for sale online, NSW dealers must make sure the required Form 5 Motor Dealer’s Notice is available on the online advertisement or vehicle listing.
The notice must relate to the actual vehicle being advertised and contain the correct information for that vehicle.
What do I need to do?
For most used cars, vans and trucks, including demonstrators, you will need a current Form 5 Motor Dealer’s Notice.
If the vehicle is advertised online, the Form 5 Motor Dealer’s Notice must be available with the online listing.
You can make the notice available as a:
- link on the vehicle listing
- photo or scanned copy
- downloadable document
- QR code linking to the notice
Check your website
If you advertise and sell used vehicles online, take a few minutes to check your current listings.
Make sure:
- the correct dealer notice is available on the online vehicle listing
- the notice matches the vehicle being advertised
- the information is current
- your motor dealer licence number is clearly displayed on your website and advertising
