  • to get medical care or supplies or other health care services, including a scheduled COVID-19 vaccination (you cannot enter for a walk-in appointment), which cannot reasonably be obtained within New South Wales; or

Residents of Restricted Border Zone LGAs who need to stay in Queensland overnight or longer to complete an essential purpose, must comply with stay at home requirements at the place they are staying in Queensland until they leave (you can only stay in Queensland for the time necessary to complete an essential purpose). To enter Queensland from a Restricted Border Zone LGA, a border zone resident must:

  • complete a Queensland entry pass

  • get tested if develop any COVID-19 symptoms and isolate until you receive a negative result.

  • monitor the list of interstate exposure venues daily (at least once every 24 hours) from the time you complete a declaration and for 14 days after arriving in Queensland

  • comply with face mask requirements.

If a border resident leaves the NSW-QLD border zone to enter a COVID-19 hotspot outside of Queensland, the border resident will not be able to re-enter Queensland via road (but only by air) and will have to quarantine for 14 days in government arranged accommodation at the border resident’s own expense.
Queensland residents who have been in a Restricted Broder Zone LGA for an essential purpose (in the last 14 days or since 8.00pm AEST 14 August 2021, whichever is shorter), must comply with stay at home requirements, when they return to Queensland until 14 days have passed since they were in that LGA.
For information on entering Queensland from an area other than the Restricted Border Zone LGA, kindly visit the Queensland government website.
