MTA NSW Past Employee

The Executive Board, Advisory Council, Members and Staff of the Motor Traders’ Association of NSW (MTA NSW) would like to express their condolences to family and friends on the passing of Ian Rolfe, a past MTA NSW Senior Divisional Manager.

Ian passed away on the 18th of August 2026.

Brief Biography

Ian commenced his career as an apprentice Fitter and Turner at BHP, and then in the late 1960’s Ian commenced operating the local Mobil Service Station located in Thirroul until he sold this business in the mid 1980’s.

Ian joined MTA NSW, initially as a Field Representative, then over the years progressed into his role as a valued Senior Divisional Manager who oversaw the Motor Vehicle Repair - Mechanical / Specialists Divisions of MTA NSW which ranged from mechanical repairers and motorcycles to farm machinery dealers.

His hard work and dedicated service in providing advice and strong advocacy on behalf of those Divisions he represented, earned him a great deal of respect amongst both his peers and the Members he served.

Ian will be fondly remembered amongst many of our long-standing Members and MTA NSW Staff.
