National Annual Wage Update 2026
On Tuesday 2nd
June, The Fair Work Commission handed down its Annual Wage Review decision,
with the new minimum wage increase confirmed at 4.75%.
For minimum wage
workers the increase was a 6% increase. For MTA Members this 6% will apply to
Level 1 and 2 Employees employed under the Vehicle Repair Services and Retail
Award 2020.
This increase is effective from the start of the employees first full pay
period on or after 1 July 2026.
Members should also be
aware that there is no change in the superannuation guarantee levy for the
forthcoming financial year.
We know many members
will be keen to get the updated rates as quickly as possible, and our aim is to
have the new MTA NSW Wage Guide released
before the July 1st deadline.
In the meantime, if you
have any questions about wage rates, classifications, pay obligations, or any
other employment issue, please contact the MTA NSW Employment Relations Team.
We are here to help
members work through the changes and make sure they are ready for the new
financial year.
